THINK BRICK AWARDS 2019
Award entries CLOSE
3RD MAY 2019
Think Brick have announced the winners for the esteemed Horbury Hunt Residential award at the Gala Awards Dinner held in August.
Owen and Vokes and Peters Architects won the award with their “Four Room Cottage” project, an artistic design of a 4-bedroom home in Brisbane.
Judges agreed that the use of brick marks new from old, physically grounding the house and celebrating the garden space.
“Brick is the primary expression for this landscape of spaces that includes a galley kitchen and an intimate fireside court.”
Elizabeth McIntyre Think Brick Australia CEO stated “it is a carefully conceived extension that connects the existing timber worker’s cottage with the garden.”
The firm won the $5000 cash prize at the annual awards which was hosted in Sydney this year.
The Horbury Hunt Residential Highly Commended Award was awarded to three individual architectural firms - James Russell Architects, Kennedy Nolan Architects and MAKE Architecture.
There were a record number of entries in this year’s Think Brick Awards with over 150 entries and it is expected that 2014 will achieve an even more overwhelming response.
In 2014, the Awards will increase prize money for each category and will introduce the Grand Prix Prize for the overall winner of the 5 categories.
