Eora Apartments - (Restoration / Residential)
Hanna & Hanna vision was to reinvigorate the area by creating a 'vertical village' that embraced the suburbs traditional sense of community, without compromising the need for personal space and privacy. The project was completed in early 2010 and successfully transformed an abandoned factory site into a prestigious multi level development, comprising of 6 penthouse suites, 4 ground-level townhouses and 56 one and two bedroom units all surrounded by landscaped gardens that include a shared community outdoor entertainment area and outdoor children's playground. "Using individual elements like face brick, rendered walls and glass-walls in combination, in an articulated manner enabled us to add interest to this residential development, that we wouldn't have been able to achieve if we simply rendered the entire building'' Mirwan. In addition to the 200,000 face bricks used in the development, PGH BricksTM also supplied a range of purpose-made common bricks that were laid in a variety of applications during the construction. Blue Steel Flash from PGHTM bricks stood out as the ideal choice. Its unique metallic finish provided a freshness that would complement the buildings form and deliver a modern streetscape which was important from an urban development perspective.
