Zvonko Relota from Euro-Form built five residences at 113 Forrest Street in the Shire of Peppermint Grove which is the smallest, most exclusive and prestigious shire in Western Australia. Zvonko's aim was to reproduce a classic European style manor house to compliment the unique character and ambience of the period residences in the shire of Peppermint Grove. The residences were named 'La Tourelle', French for the tower as the front residence features a prominent tower creating the impression of a grand manor house similar to one you may find in the South of France.
A combination of Boral Midland Brick's Georgian Windsor plus render, mouldings and ornate wrought iron were used externally as he finds render on its own to be quite bland. Underneath La Tourelle, Zvonko wanted the residences to have a wine cellar that would impress the discerning wine connoisseur. The cellars incorporate an arched ceiling, built with Boral Midland Brick Handmade Woodbridge complimenting the American Oak cabinetry.
La Tourelle has become a recognised architectural landmark and a significant entry statement to the Shire of Peppermint Grove as acknowledged by Graeme Simpson the CEO of the Shire and Terry Mayor the Shire's Manager of Development Services.
