St John Vianney School - (Commercial)
The brief to the architect was to provide a modern contemporary building incorporating a Hall and first floor learning area. The final outcome resulted in the utilization of brickwork that did not endeavour to match the existing buildings on the campus, instead a brick was chosen that harmonised with the deep blue and purple flashed bricks that were present in the elements of both existing adjacent buildings. The use of the PGH Bluesteele flash bricks brought out the deep blue and purples that was envisioned, whilst blending with the features of the Colour Iron work and charcoal Block work. The addition, the slipt face brick linked the terracotta feel of the GLA and the adjacent Church keeping the colour low but adding a dimension to the building that created a subtle yet strong feature.
