BRICK CLEANING ACCREDITATION COURSE

Think Brick Australia delivers nationally recognised Brick and Block Cleaning Courses designed to provide practical, industry-relevant training in the correct cleaning of clay and concrete masonry walling systems, including the identification and treatment of common stains.

Since 2023, brick and block cleaners across Australia have been able to achieve industry-recognised accreditation through successful completion of this course. Please note: this is an industry-recognised accreditation, not the CPCCPD3029A Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings qualification.

What the Course Covers

The course provides comprehensive training in:

  • Working with contemporary clay bricks and concrete masonry blocks
  • Planning and preparing a safe and efficient worksite
  • Identifying common brick and block stains and understanding stain prevention
  • Selecting appropriate cleaning techniques to avoid damage to masonry
  • Effective removal of brick and block stains
  • Clean-up procedures and safe storage of equipment and chemicals
  • Use of environmentally responsible cleaning products and methods

How to Become an Accredited Cleaner

To achieve accreditation, participants must:

  • Complete a site induction
  • Successfully pass the classroom and workshop components
  • Pass an onsite practical assessment conducted by Think Brick Australia
  • Complete and submit the post-course assessment to the course trainer

Accredited Brick Cleaner Directory

All individuals who successfully complete the accreditation process will be listed in the Think Brick Australia Accredited Brick Cleaner Directory, published on the Think Brick Australia website.

Maintaining Your Brick Cleaning Accreditation

To maintain accreditation, accredited brick cleaners must:

  • Attend and successfully complete any additional brick cleaning courses prescribed by Think Brick Australia from time to time; and
  • Notify Think Brick Australia if they leave or sell the brick cleaning business listed on the website, and provide updated employer or business details and contact information if they continue working as a brick cleaner.

Terms and Conditions of Accreditation Listing

To maintain a listing on the Think Brick Australia website, brick cleaning companies or businesses are required, at least every two years, to:

  • Confirm they are still providing brick cleaning services
  • Confirm current contact details
  • Demonstrate to Think Brick Australia’s satisfaction that they continue to employ an accredited brick cleaner

Brick Cleaning Warranties

Builders across Australia who engage accredited brick cleaners listed on the Think Brick Australia website will have their brick cleaning work protected by a manufacturer-backed warranty for the bricks that were cleaned.

BRICK CLEANING COURSE DATES

View our upcoming Brick Cleaning Courses being delivered across Australia.

In 2025, Think Brick Australia will offer a range of brick cleaning courses to suit different roles and experience levels, including the Long Stream (2-day) and Short Stream (1-day) courses, as well as a refresher course for existing accredited brick cleaners.

The Long Stream course is a two-day program combining theoretical and practical components and provides a clear pathway to becoming a Think Brick Australia recognised accredited brick cleaner.

The Short Stream course is a one-day program (4–5 hours) covering the theoretical component only. It does not result in accreditation and is well suited to builders, manufacturers and bricklayers seeking a practical understanding of best-practice brick and block cleaning.

A refresher course is also available for existing accredited brick cleaners wishing to renew or maintain their accreditation.
